アメリカのブルワリーは世界最高のクラフトビールを数々生み出しており、それらは年に1度開催のイベント、アメリカンクラフトビールエクスペリエンス(以下ACBE)で飲むことが可能だ。。9周年を迎える今年は11月1日から3日までウォーターズ竹芝で開催され、日本のインポーターが取り扱う素晴らしいビールが揃う。このイベントのために集まったビールは本当に美味しいものばかりだ。小売業者は自身のバー、ボトルショップ、レストラン用のビールを探すことができ、一般の来場客もビールを飲んで楽しいひと時を過ごすことが可能だ。屋外で開催されるこのイベントは入場無料で、注文の際に支払いをする。価格も手頃だ。
会場には40ヶ所近いブルワリーのビールが集結する。例年同様、一部のブルワリーの代表者やブルワーも参加予定だ。実際に私たちは、彼らがこのイベントの参加を楽しんでいると聞いたこともある（結局のところ、彼らにとっては日本に行くチャンスなのだ！） ぜひこの盛り上がりに参加し、彼らと交流してみてほしい。こういった経験も、このイベントの楽しみの一つだ。また、ビールと合わせて楽しめるキッチンカーや、ライブ音楽もある。

American breweries make some of the world’s best craft beer, and that’s on display at the annual American Craft Beer Experience (ACBE) held in Tokyo this year from November 1st to the 3rd at Waters Takeshiba. Now in its ninth year, the festival offers an impressive array of beers from Japan’s importers. Gathered together for the festival, they showcase some real treats. Retailers can scout out options for their bars, bottle shops, or restaurants, while ordinary consumers can simply delight in the liquid feast made available. It’s an outdoor festival and free to enter; you simply pay as you order, and the prices are reasonable.
There will be close to forty breweries featured. As with previous years, there will be brewery representatives and brewers in attendance from some of the breweries. We know from first-hand testimony that they love attending this event (it’s a chance to go to Japan, after all!). Come out and mingle with them while they’re in high spirits. Such interactions are just a part of the fun of this event. There are also food trucks so you can enjoy pairing with your beer, as well as live music.
On a peripheral note, the organizers are running an interesting ‘diagnostic’ campaign until October 20th. On their website, you answer a number of diagnostic questions about what kind of beers you like, and at the end, it’ll recommend a style for you to try at the event. It’s all simple fun, but if you take a picture (screen shot) of your final result and post it to social media, you could win free beer or a deluxe growler. Also note that some of the brewers attending ACBE will be hosting independent events at select retailers both before and after the festival.
